Current Research Topics
My current projects aim to study the determinism, evolution and adaptive consequences of the variability of migratory behaviour in brown trout Salmo trutta, in correlation with the adaptation of populations to their environment (habitat, trophic resources, presence of sympatric species). The goal is to identify gene flow between populations (at various spatial and temporal scales) and the role of the migratory form (sea trout) in structuring the genetic variability between and within populations. This will help provide recommendations for the genetic conservation of the species in French rivers. This question is part of a larger scientific issue: the relation between human activities and evolution of amphihaline fish communities in France and Europe, particularly in a global change context, which could result in changes in life-history strategies, such as alternative migratory tactics in several species.
