Current Research Topics
SELUNE project: Establishment of a monitoring network of fish population on the Sélune River (France) before two dam removals (Vezin and La Roche-qui-Boit). The Sélune is a river in Basse-Normandie, France. It is 91 km long and has a catchment area of 1038 km² that empties into the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel. In this river, there are two dams whose hydroelectric concession has not been renewed. Under these conditions, the Ministry of Ecology decided in 2012 to remove them with the aim of restoring ecological continuity.
The purpose of my work is to survey fish populations in the entire catchment area. This survey focuses on salmon, trout, eels and crayfish and consists of electric fishing and trapping. A network of 75 stations is spread over the catchment area.
Collaborations
- CRESCO (Research Centre and Education on Coastal Systems, Dinard, France). Monitoring of eel populations in the Sélune River.
- UMR ECOBIO (Ecosystems, Biodiversity, Rennes, France). Monitoring of different crayfish populations in the Sélune River.

Consulting Experience
2009-2011: I focused on ecological restoration of headwaters in Normandy (France). A part of this work consisted in analysing the composition of herbaceous species on stream banks. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential for natural recolonisation by analysing the influence of hedge networks. Another part of my work consisted of studying degradation rates of litter in these degraded streams after their restoration.
