Research

Current research topics

My current research is focused on the improvement of the analysis of data coming from instruments employed in the study of the icthyofauna. In detail, cutting-edge technologies, such as hydroacoustic cameras, can be used nowadays to improve our knowledge of such ecosystems and to develop new methods of regulation. However these instruments generate huge quantities of data to be analysed, often too large to be efficiently exploited in short time. To overcome such issues, I am studying novel methods as Neural Networks to automatise the analysis of large amounts of data and to exploit them to gain new insights.
