Title of the thesis

Relationship between fitness, phenotype and environmental conditions in a long-lived bat species, Myotis myotis

Current Resarch topics

My research activity is based on the individual marking of >3,000 individuals over the last 11 years in 5 colonies of Myotis myotis (greater mouse – eared bat) of Brittany, in order to estimate the heritability of phenotypic traits, life history traits and to understand what drives the dynamics of their populations in order to be able to set up recommendations for their proper conservation. For this I based on a vast pedigree that is reconstructed from individual genotypic data, to analyze the relationship between fitness (survival, reproductive success), phenotype (sex, forearm length, weight, oxidative stress, telomere length) and environmental conditions measured either directly (temperature, precipitation) or indirectly (condition index, date of birth).
