My research aims to better understand the interconnections between the multiple components of marine socio-ecosystems. I study the spatiotemporal dynamics of populations and communities, their trophic interactions, and their response to the joint effects of environment and exploitation, while accounting for feedback effects on fishing activities. I use numeric ecology and modeling tools applied to various and complementary biological and fisheries scales. I integrate global change into my work and explore different future scenarios in order to investigate new management measures that are robust in a context of environmental uncertainties. By assessing the performance of these measures in relation to ecological objectives while taking socio-economic issues into account, my research supports the operationalization of ecosystem-based fisheries management.
