My responsibilities within UMR DECOD are structured around three main areas, focusing on the bycatch of protected species in fisheries (primarily marine mammals, but also seabirds and elasmobranchs):

·         Management and analysis of bycatch monitoring data (ObsMer and OBSCAMe+), as well as data from trials of bycatch mitigation devices, particularly within the framework of the National Action Plan to Reduce Bycatch of Small Cetaceans.

·         Application of estimation methods to assess the total number of bycatch, especially in the Bay of Biscay, in connection with the work of ICES (notably WGBYC).

·         Development of data processing pipelines and analytical methodologies aimed at better characterizing the bycatch phenomenon and identifying environmental and operational factors likely to increase the risk of bycatch.

My work is conducted within a rigorous framework of transparency, reproducibility, and accessibility of results for decision-makers. It aims to strengthen a robust scientific knowledge base in support of public policy, while contributing to an open science approach through collaborative scientific publications.
