Numerous projects have been conducted on the selectivity of fishing gear. The methods used to collect and analyze data from trials of selective devices are time-consuming. The APASE project proposes the development of an “open-source” application that allows data collected during onboard trials of selective devices on trawlers using single or twin trawls to be entered at sea using a tablet. This application is part of a comprehensive tool that complies with the protocol established by IFREMER and developed within the CAPS project (FFP funding). It will therefore be available to all stakeholders in the fishing industry wishing to conduct selectivity tests and is designed to be user-friendly so that it can be used by fishermen when observers are not available.
