The APPETIT project is developing alternative baits for vessels that use traps to catch octopus, lobsters, and shrimp. The goal is to create bio-based baits that are easy to portion, can be stored without freezing, and are made from natural products with a secure supply chain. By utilizing byproducts from the fishing industry, APPETIT aims to create an economical and sustainable solution that is part of a production approach with minimal environmental impact.
