In recent years, projects aimed at improving the selectivity of fishing gear have relied on devices proposed by or co-developed with industry professionals to address their needs regarding the reduction of discards. Trials are conducted aboard the vessels of volunteer fishermen, and rapid feedback on the results is expected to optimize the experiments and maintain their involvement. The InseR project has therefore developed an open-source R package that automatically generates summary reports after each experimental fishing trip. These reports facilitate the evaluation of the devices being tested, guide future trials, and promote the adoption of the most effective solutions.
