Bioéconomie dynamique spatialisée des invasions biologiques : preuve de concept pour la gestion de la jussie en Brière

|
The management of invasive alien species (IAS) poses complex problems requiring interdisciplinary approaches combining ecology and economics.
Bio-economic decision-making tools are still underdeveloped and existing models suffer from (i) a lack of ecological realism, (ii) a high level of complexity that makes them hardly parameterized from available data, and (iii) a relative disconnection from the problems and needs encountered by environmental managers. In other words, although these models have all the ingredients needed to define decision-making tools, they remain mainly oriented towards the academic sphere and formulate general results with relatively little impact on the field.
In order to fill these gaps, SPABIO is based on a transdisciplinary collaboration between ecologists, economists and natural environment managers to :
(1) develop a new class of ecologically realistic bio-economic models that are directly applicable to the concrete problems encountered by managers,
(2) provide a proof of concept for this new theoretical framework using the case of water primrose in the Brière Regional Nature Park, and
(3) prepare the application of the theoretical framework to other IAS problems in various contexts. SPABIO will allow the team to extend its network of collaborations and to strengthen itself for larger calls.
